Since graduation where have you lived?

Started in San Jose, off to London, England, back to San Jose, then down to Morgan Hill and for the past 18 years in Gilroy.

What careers have you pursued?

I made some amazing memories in one of my first positions in my early 20’s. I worked as a Flight Attendant for Pan Am based out of London. Then due to the fuel shortage layoffs occurred and my life moved on to marriage and children. I retired from my longest career, that of a School District Business and Finance Director.

What are your hobbies?

My husband Frank and I really enjoy our time on the golf course, such a great social game. Going on wine tasting trips. We love to entertain and create lots of different menus to pair with great wines to share. Travel is big too. I am the researcher for our trips which is so fun but very time consuming!

What has been your most memorable trip?

Lots to choose from, some tragic like when our best friend had a fatal heart attack on the Mediterranean on the second day our Cruise,. Other trips to Southeast Asia embracing the food and cultures, Beirut, Lebanon back in the 70’s loved going there and we were able to walk on a glacier in Alaska after landing by helicopter. Making the memories traveling the world is what we are really missing during this pandemic.

Tell us about your family.

My husband Frank and I have been blessed to have been married for 47 years. We have a son, Chris whose beautiful daughter, Emily, is our only grandchild (greatly loved and spoiled) and a daughter, Rachael, who has our grandpuppy, Stanley. Lots of extended family and friendships that have spanned decades, making them our chosen family we spend time with regularly.

What is your most vivid memory from high school?

I don’t remember exactly how Vicky Harper and I met freshman year but we became fast friends. During freshman year, Vicky’s dad passed and I lived at her house for weeks afterwards. Our friendship is the best memory and continues to grow. And of course, Senior year sneaking off campus in Robbie Shriner’s sports car to get lunch at McDonalds and then sneaking back on to go to class! Crazy! Then, our senior sleep-in, will always be fondly remembered until we had to get out quick when someone broke into the attendance office.

Who was your favorite teacher/class?

My all time favorite, Mr. George Scott! Junior and Senior year I was lucky to be on staff in his newspaper class and senior year, yearbook staff too. Loved those classes! He was the best teacher!

If retired, what keeps you occupied/productive?

Besides all my hobbies, a lot of my time is spent with my granddaughter. We have weekly sleepovers and she has her girlfriend spend the night occasionally as well. She keeps us on our toes and is so fun! Our adult time is best spent wine tastings, dinners, and games with friends.

What has been the most satisfying thing in your life so far?

Hands down, being married to my soulmate and best friend! We enjoy life together through challenging times as well as the fun times. Most important to me are the relationships that I have with the people in my life.
