San Jose and currently in Los Gatos
What careers have you pursued?
I was a subcontract administrator at Lockheed and am currently a harp teacher and professional freelance harpist.
What are your hobbies?
reading, walking, playing music
What has been your most memorable trip?
My husband always promised he'd take me to Italy and we finally vacationed there, sightseeing in Rome, Florence and Venice in September of 2019.
Tell us about your family.
I have a husband (retired from Lockheed), son (who works at the Los Gatos Trader Joe's) and a daughter who is studying at Hebrew College in Boston to become a rabbi.
What is your most vivid memory from high school?
At the end of my senior year I had a discussion with my English teacher (whose name I can't remember) and he said that if I didn't learn to write well, I'd fail in college. I was tired and it was the last quarter of school so I took a D grade rather than complete the essay part of the class. When I came back to visit during my freshman year in college, I brought him the poem I'd written on the back of a paper bag and said, "See, it didn't matter as much as you said it would." Of course, I did go to UCSC and by the time I graduated it was not just pass/fail, it was pass/no record.
Who was your favorite teacher/class?
Choir
If retired, what keeps you occupied/productive?
I'm still teaching people to play the harp and have recently become involved in the Jewish Democratic Club of Silicon Valley.
What has been the most satisfying thing in your life so far?
Helping people learn to do something they love, i.e. playing the harp and watching my children grow into responsible adults.
